Ease Up Your Web Development – Define a Site in Dreamweaver
January 31st, 2010 by
One of the most time consuming tasks for novice web designers is locating the function responsible of doing something.
The first thing to do to improve your “tracking” skills is to create a local site environment. Dreamweaver lets you define a site scope and then you can search for code in the entire site.
You can do the following steps before project start or during, either way – it helps:
- Click on Site menu and select New Site.
- Navigate to Advanced tab, Local Info category.

- Enter Site name.
If your site/blog is based on WordPress, download the latest WP version from wordpress.org and extract it anywhere you wish on your hard drive. - Browse for the main folder containing your site’s files for the Local root folder, then click OK.

Done!
